HOW TO REACH YOUR GOALS

For many people, it is easy to set goals as family, work, their diet or physical activity. Some of its goals will be met, but others will remain unfinished.

We therefore come to question ourselves; why are some of those goals that we thought were so important to be forgotten after a few months or even weeks? Is it really a lack of will? Or simply that the objectives at the beginning were not clear and realistic?

HERE ARE STEPS TO FOLLOW TO BUILD YOUR OBJECTIVES AND INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF SUCCESS!

1) Set your priorities

For example, this year, my priority would be 1- improve my diet 2- spend more time with my family 3- get more exercise ... It is normal for our priorities to change, so your goals must adapt to them. The time allocated to each priority will also vary depending on your rank.

2) Shrink your priorities

Improve my diet, it's very wide! What would you like to work on first? Eat less meat, drink more water, eat more fiber, cook more, etc. Do not hesitate to seek help from a health professional if you do not know where to start!

3) Set specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time-bound goals.

For example, if I want to increase my water consumption because I drink only 2 glasses a day. A SMART goal would be: I want to drink 4 glasses of water a day (breakfast, lunch, dinner and bedtime) 5 times a week (working day) during the next month. Putting numbers and dates helps to make the goal clear and reachable.

4) Put your goals in sight.

You must see your goals every day. Find images that make you think about your goal, write them down ... All methods are good. Put them on the fridge, on your bedroom wall, in the bathroom, in your living room? Be creative, do it your way.

5) Review your goals

Revise your goals once or twice a month to update and evaluate them. Once again, do not hesitate to seek help if you feel the need.

Do not be too hard on yourself, you can start with 1 short-term goal and 1 long-term goal overall. Be careful not to fix too much! You know yourself better than anyone, respect your limits and be realistic. This will increase your chances of success.
